Innovative Remedial Technologies

In 2001, SRS was among the earliest pioneers developing practical applications and approaches to site cleanup through In-Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO). This process involves pressure injection of sanitizing gases and liquids directly to the soil via a sparge well network. Gases are strategically-delivered to impacted areas, converting chemicals of concern to inert elements left in-place.

With nothing to remove, disposal costs are eliminated. We have applied this method at many sites, with results ranging from successful to spectacular. The following graph displays 2002 TPH, BTEX and MTBE results from a gas station site in Crescent City, California:

Within 20 weeks, hydrocarbons were reduced 99 percent and MTBE decreased 66 percent.
